Leonard R. Nuth - President and investment partner of
Safety Capital Partners. Leonard is also the founder and President
of SafetyHQ, Inc. Mr. Nuth was the former president of Safety.com.
Mr. Nuth has over 20 years of experience in the safety and security
industry, business ownership, retail management, banking, real
estate development and large scale auctioneering. Mr. Nuth was
the former Senior Vice President of B2B at Safetytips.com where
he developed the company's overall business strategy, created
core revenue models, established US and international channel
distribution relationships and directed the company's overall
acquisition strategies.
Mr. Nuth spent over 10 years
in the law enforcement, corrections and safety industry, and
graduated with a BA in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice
from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Nuth is a current
member of the National Association Safety Professionals, Homeland
Security Industry Association, Safety and Health Council of
New Hampshire (National Safety Council NH Chapter), Association
of Internet Professionals, Massachusetts Electronic Commerce
Association, New England Healthcare Consortium, New England
Chinese Information Network Association, Merrimack Valley Venture
Forum and the MIT Enterprise Forum.
Charles Kosta - is the CTO and investment partner at
Safety Capital Partners. Mr. Kosta is co-founder and CTO for
SafetyHQ, Inc. Dr Kosta has a background in contemporary computer
based sciences and has managed to succeed in a series private
sector positions that brought him eye to eye with the challenges
of responding to government standards and regulation. He was
previously Vice President of Engineering at Safety Net Solutions,
Inc. While handling several top management roles at SNS, Dr.
Kosta led extensive work with the US Departments of Transportation,
Justice and Defense. His government experience includes systems
integration for the U.S. Air Traffic Management and Routing
System under the DOT's Pre-Y2K deadline. He had a management
role in DOJ/INS Re-architecture Analysis and was a member of
the DOD’s, Joint Training System development team with Dynamics
Research Corporation.
In addition to doing research in Parallel Expert systems for
NASA Johnson Space Center, Chuck did research work on Solar
Cell inspection and assembly with the Dept. of Energy and Spire
Corporation. Dr Kosta received his doctorate in Intelligent
Actors and Knowledge Based Systems from the University Of Mass.
His dissertation work investigated the use of 3D virtual worlds
for purposes of control, collaboration and training in an internet
environment. In addition to his government projects responsibilities,
Chuck also led SNS's internal Web initiative and participated
in several successful high end internet back-ends for private
sector clients including Engage and Avid Technologies.
Elenka Czaja - is COO and investment partner at Safety
Capital Partners. Mrs Czaja was the former Director of Internet
Content at Safety.com. Ms. Czaja has over 25 years of business
management and market experience. She was the co-founder and
Executive Vice President of Metzger/McGuire, a national company
providing products, services and education to Fortune 500 Distribution
Center Executives. As Executive Vice President of Pluramed,
a startup focused on the integrative medicine industry, she
oversaw the development of web site architecture, content management
and channel marketing. Her work in the construction, distribution,
food, pharmaceutical, education and healthcare industries provides
her with first-hand product and market knowledge. Ms Czaja earned
a BS from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics and
an M.Ed from the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Bernard Ussher - is analyst and investment partner
at Safety Capital Partners. Mr Ussher was company's Director
of Sales at Safety.com. Previously, Mr. Ussher was Vice President
in charge of acquisitions for SafetyTips.com where he handled
the acquisition of APBNews through bankruptcy court. He was
formerly the US fund manager with MIP Equity Fund, a Dutch based
$350M private equity fund, in which position he served on the
boards of HHB Softron, Aries Technology and Palladian Technology.
Mr. Ussher received his BS Degree of Electrical Engineering
from University College, Dublin, Ireland and his MBA from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management.
Board Members
Ross Miller - Board Member, Mr. Miller is the founder
(1992) and President of Safety Net Solutions and as such has
provided innovative software solutions to a large client base
by combining extensive hardware, software, and firmware experience
with proven project management skills. Mr. Miller is very skilled
at working closely with executive management, clients, sales,
marketing, and engineers to deliver quality products in a timely
and cost-effective manner. He is an innovative software architect
and programmer, and has a long and distinguished career developing
and implementing quality products.
Mr. Miller has a wide variety of technology skills, which he
is very effective at bringing to bear on the projects he takes
on. He is a skilled architect in the area of networking; is
proficient in over twenty computer languages including Java,
Visual C/C++ and Visual Basic; has worked in a variety of operating
environments such as UNIX, Linux, Windows NT/2000 with clustering,
Solaris and HP-UX; and has experience with the major database
products Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server Clustered. He has expertise
in Distributed Applications development, Parallel Applications
development, and Expert Systems development; as well as extensive
Program Management, Project Leadership, Software and Systems
Architect, Consulting, and Senior Developer experience.
George Markowsky - Board member Mr. Markowsky is the
president of Ayersisland.com, a thinktank located just south
of University of Maine at Orono, ME. - President of Ayers Island,
LLC. He came to the University of Maine in 1983 to assume the
first permanent chair in the Department of Computer Science.
Prior to joining the University of Maine, George worked for
ten years at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown
Heights, New York. There he pursued key work in the foundations
of computer science and performed research in various theoretical
and practical subjects.
George also founded Trefoil Corporation in 1994 as a computer
software and general consulting firm. Trefoil offers custom
programming and a wide variety of technical services.
Key Investors
Mr. Robert Norton,
President and CEO of C-Level Enterprises (formerly Condor Enterprises)
has over 15 years as full-time President and CEO of numerous
successful companies. Two grew to over $100 million in annual
sales while Mr. Norton was there and one grew from $0 to over
$1 billion in revenue today. He has helped launch eight startup
companies and over 30 products. His experience spans all key
disciplines needed to start, grow and exit businesses in several
industries. He can provide a breath of experience and perspective
across all disciplines that only experienced CEOs can.
With 22 total
years experience, including former positions as Senior Software
Architect, VP Engineering and CTO, Mr. Norton cna understand
both deep technical issues and strategic management issues.
So often operations, product development and marketing issues
are deeply interwoven, requiring multi-disciplinary experience
to effectively solve problems. Mr. Norton's breath of experience
allows for complete validation and/or improvement of entire
business models for maximum growth and profit. He is also a
specialist at designing long-term competitive advantages into
businesses so profit margins can be maintained and stockholders
build sustainable revenue and profits that can justfy high multiples
on exit.
